The story “Old Love doesn’t Rest” emphasizes the importance of non-material things like values and love over the transience of material things.

The composition is a subtle reference to the ornamentation on the back of a wedding dress. The use of plant motifs refers to the transience of material in nature. People who live in the rainforest have no use for material things like clothes or books because everything decays here. Only values such as wisdom, strength, personality, honesty, courtesy, and dignity can endure.
